Graham Construction Awarded $5.3M Contract

The federal government has awarded a $5.3-million contract to Graham Construction and Engineering Inc. of Edmonton, Alberta, for the Wainwright Water Treatment Plant Upgrade project at CFB Wainwright.

The project will improve the water processing system by installing membranes into the water treatment plant that will ensure the continued supply of safe and reliable drinking water to both the base and the Town of Wainwright. This project was part of the $40 million in infrastructure upgrades Minister MacKay announced for Alberta in March 2009.

The Department of National Defence holds a large number of properties all across the country to support the Canadian Forces, including some 21,000 buildings, 2.25 million hectares of land, 5,500 kilometres of roads, and 3,000 kilometres of water, storm and sewer pipes.
