$9.9M for Regina Water Projects

Posted on February 2, 2010

The end of January saw a funding announcement of nearly $45.8 million from the federal, provincial and municipal governments for 15 new infrastructure projects across Saskatchewan. Federal funding represents over $19.8 million under the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, part of the Economic Action Plan.

“Like many municipalities across Canada, Regina’s infrastructure needs investment far beyond what we can provide on our own,” says Regina City Councillor Louis Browne. “The City of Regina is very pleased to collaborate with our Federal and Provincial partners to address this issue.”

Of the 15 new projects, Regina will be receiving three new water/wastewater infrastructure projects worth $9.9 million:

  • McCarthy Pump Station Upgrades
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant Forcemain
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant new waterline
