With increased water scarcity, urban growth and an energy infrastructure heavily dependent on water, the value of water and how we finance water services and delivery is an issue which warrants our immediate attention.  Global concern regarding sustainable water resources has led to both challenges and opportunities in the nexus of water and finance. As businesses and municipalities face increasing pressure to engage in corporate environmental responsibility, they must consider the new water reality. The Centre for Environment, Water Finance Program aims to address this topic and develop progressive leadership with water intelligence.

Water Finance looks at current and future water issues such as strategy, markets and investment, policy and regulation, water and energy, water resources and climate change, sustainability, adaptation, risk, conservation, legal issues, technology and innovation. Water Finance, stemming from the field of Environmental Finance, considers both political and industry perspectives on water management and governance.
