Water Scientists Are Rock Stars: Mercer

The CBC’s Rick Mercer has added his two cents to the furor over the Harper government’s decision to close the Experimental Lakes Area (ELA) in the latest of his classic graffiti alley rants.

“In the world of science, they are rock stars,” Mercer says of the ELA’s 17 scientists. The Harper government will spend $50 million to shut down the facility, he adds, only to save $2 million per year. “Wow–someone really doesn’t like fresh water,” he says.

“My Canada includes weird scientists who are devoted to keeping our water clean.”
