The multi-million dollar Adelaide Street South reconstruction project from Durham Street to Kent Street in Lindsay, Ontario, will involve replacing 545 meters of sanitary sewer and 685 meters of water main infrastructure in conjunction with the road urbanization project.

The City invested more than $750,000 in 2014 to reconstruct Adelaide Street from Mary Street to Durham Street as part of phase 1. The work, scheduled to begin next week is phase 2 of a two year project.

“The scheduled work will include full road reconstruction and urbanization, as well as storm sewer enhancements, partial sanitary sewer reconstruction, water main replacement, sidewalks, curb and gutter and asphalt road surface,” said Director of Development Services Ron Taylor. “The road resurfacing will remedy the poor conditions of Adelaide Street from Durham Street to Kent Street and will certainly address one of the many concerns we hear from residents and motorists.”

Phase 2 is expected to be completed by early November.
