On July 16, the Village of Neguac, New Brunswick announced the installation of a $6-million wastewater collection system extension under the Small Communities Fund.

With only half of the village’s households connected to the municipal water system, the project will greatly improve services for residents by bringing wastewater collection to an additional 15 streets. Wastewater collection infrastructure will be installed on Alexandre, Amand, Eddy, Emery, Fairisle, L. Allain, Lebel, LeGresley, Lionel, Martin, Michel, Principale North, Principale South, Robichaud and St-Coeur streets.

“The federal government understands that by building stronger communities and modernizing and developing our infrastructure, we are creating jobs and opportunities and building a better Canada for future generations,” said Miramichi MP Tilly O’Neill Gordon. “The Small Communities Fund of the New Building Canada Fund supports economic growth from coast to coast to coast while ensuring that Canadian communities remain among the best in the world to live.”
