The Water Economics, Policy and Governance Network (WEPGN), a SSHRC-funded partnership research network housed at Brock University, is announcing an open competition for new research projects.

The overarching goal of WEPGN is to build knowledge and facilitate exchange between social science researchers and partners. It aims to increase the application of research to decision-making and enhance water’s sustainable contribution to Canada’s economy and society while protecting ecosystems.

WEPGN launched with its Phase I of research projects in 2012, and with the launch of its Phase II funding competition, proposals from SSHRC eligible scholars are solicited for multi- and interdisciplinary teams of researchers proposing research projects that focus on partner and end-user defined challenges to improve management of water resources.

Applications are sought under three research themes: ‘Water and Economy,’ ‘Institutions and Community,’ and ‘Knowledge and Decision-Making.’ The application deadline is May 29, 2015.
