The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) voted in a new president this week at the 81st annual meeting and convention. Keith Currie, a Simcoe County crop farmer, was acclaimed as an Ontario Federation of Agriculture president at the 2016 Annual General Meeting.

Outgoing president, Don McCabe, a Lambton county farmer, long-time board member, and champion of water issues,  ends his two year term.

Keith Currie brings 25 years of experience with the OFA began with an appointment to the Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture, where he held numerous positions including president in 2004.

Currie has served as Director on the Simcoe County Holstein Club, and is member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association, Simcoe District Co-Operatives, Simcoe County Milk Producers, Stayner Farmers Co-Operative and the Collingwood Agricultural Society where he served as County Delegate for Gencor. Currie currently sits on the Board of Ontario Agri-Food Education and is a member of the Healthy Waters/Healthy Futures review committee for Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority.

Peggy Brekveld and Mark Reusser have been elected as OFA vice presidents for a one-year term.
