Quebec-based H2O Innovation Inc. has won the Water Technology Company of the Year award at the 2016 Global Water Awards, which took place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates as part of the Global Water Summit. The Company was nominated among Suez, Danaher, and G.E. Water & Process Technologies.

The award was presented to the company for its contribution to the water treatment industry in 2015. During the past year, H2O Innovation has distinguished itself among its competitors with technologies, such as FiberFlex, Clearlogx , SPMC, and Smartrek, aimed at improving water treatment systems and customer experience.

“We are extremely proud to have won the Water Technology Company of the Year award at the Global Water Awards,” said Frédéric Dugré, president and CEO of H2O Innovation. ”

H2O Innovation designs and provides custom-built and integrated water treatment solutions based on membrane filtration technology for municipal, energy, and natural resources end-users. The company also provides products and services complementary to its membrane filtration and reverse osmosis systems. These products consist of specialty chemicals, consumables, and couplings.

Dugré said, “Large companies have tried and failed to bring together the roles of systems integrator and chemical supplier. H2O Innovation has used smart technologies to bridge the two disciplines, creating a virtuous circle based on greater understanding of the customer experience.”

When asked about the benefit of being a Canadian company, he said that Canada provides great support to clean-tech companies looking to expend their business to the international market, such as R&D credits, support from organizations like Exportation Development Canada, Canadian Trade Commissioners, industrial research centers, as well as a the significant expertise that can be tapped from Canadian universities and technical colleges.

“Canada benefits from a good reputation on the international scene. Canadians business owners are subsequently well received when knocking on the doors of new markets and investors,” said Dugré.
