The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) has a new President, with Nevin McKeown assuming the role on a permanent basis starting June 6, 2017.

Mr. McKeown has been with OCWA since its inception in 1993. He brings a wealth of operational expertise and experience to his new role, having held a number of progressively responsible positions with the Agency over the course of his career, including vice president, operations, prior to taking on the role of president following the retirement of former president Rob Andrews earlier in the year. Over the years, Mr. McKeown has led a number of significant initiatives, including the operational integration of $350 million in capital expansion projects at the wastewater facilities for the Agency’s largest client, the Region of Peel.

“The Board is very pleased that Mr. McKeown will be leading the Agency on a permanent basis,” said John Bergsma, acting chair of OCWA’s Board of Directors. “Nevin is a dedicated and principled leader who is committed to delivering superior service to the Agency’s clients. We are very confident that, under his leadership, OCWA will continue to lead the industry in providing comprehensive water and wastewater services to Ontario municipalities.”

“I’m very excited to be leading OCWA as we work to deliver total water and wastewater solutions to all of our clients,” said Mr. McKeown. “The depth of the talent that we have across the Agency is remarkable, as is the commitment that OCWA employees demonstrate to serving the needs of our clients each and every day. That dedication and expertise, combined with strong leadership from our Senior Leadership Team, are what make OCWA the best in the business and what make me proud to be a member of the OCWA team.”
