May 29, 2012: Webinar: Cross-Canada Checkup: A Canadian Perspective on Our Water FutureWebinar 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET (9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. PT) This is the fifth, and final, webinar in the POLIS Water Sustainability Project’s 2011/2012 Creating a Blue Dialogue webinar series. Information on next year’s series will be available in early fall 2012. **SPACE IS LIMITED** Across the country, Canadians are passionate about the protection of water and willing to engage with challenging issues that have the potential to impact water quality and quantity. Although each province and territory faces a unique set of water-related concerns, there are overarching themes that cut across borders. Drawing on the new report Cross-Canada Checkup: A Canadian Perspective on Our Water Future, the guest speakers will offer a perspective on current and emerging water challenges and priorities across Canada, and illustrate the interrelatedness of many water issues common to all Canadians. They will explore the Northwest Territories’ groundbreaking new water stewardship strategy as a model for water policy reform in the rest of Canada, and discuss the emerging need for a new national vision for understanding the value of water in this country. This webinar complements the launch of Cross-Canada Checkup: A Canadian Perspective on Our Water Future, published by the POLIS Project on Ecological Governance at the University of Victoria and the Adaptation to Climate Change Team (ACT) at Simon Fraser University.
