FREDsense appoints new President

FREDsense Technologies (FREDsense) announced the appointment of Eric Stoermer as their new President. This comes at an important inflection point for the Company as it recently launched their industry-first PFAS portable test kit, FRED-PFAS™, which is already transforming the slow turnaround times, high costs, and complexity of traditional PFAS-contaminated sample analysis. Stoermer, formerly the President of Digested Organics (DO) and Environmental Operating Solutions (EOSi), led both investor-backed water sector companies to rapid commercial scaling, profitability, and successful exits. Emily Hicks, FREDsense’s Co-founder and current President, will transition into the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

“We’re thrilled to have Eric join our team at such a critical point and in such a challenging industry as PFAS mitigation,” expressed FREDsense CEO and Co-Founder, David Lloyd. “To get to the next level spearheaded by our new, first-of-its-kind PFAS field test kit and supported by our 5-day turnaround PFAS lab testing services, we knew we needed proven thought leaders like him. Eric brings a wealth of experience in scaling businesses within the water industry and his proven track record of business growth aligns perfectly with our strategic vision. Eric’s leadership will be instrumental as we expand our rapid PFAS analysis offerings and introduce new technologies that continue to solve our customers’ needs.”

Added Stoermer, “I have been a FREDsense investor and consultant since January 2024 and joining them at this pivotal time is an incredible opportunity. With the recent launch of their portable test kit and the Company’s overall commitment to innovation, reliability, and speed when it comes to water quality analysis, I am excited to contribute to their expansion. I look forward to working closely with David, Emily, and the rest of FREDsense’s experienced team to help PFAS-related technology developers and environmental consultants expand their monitoring and treatment programs and accelerate PFAS mitigation efforts everywhere.”

Since launching the industry’s fastest PFAS lab analysis services in spring 2024, the Company has seen rapid growth across multiple applications and had adoption by some of the biggest names in the PFAS industry. For example, OvivoAclarityAxine Water TechnologiesCoreWater TechnologiesNBOT Labs, and NULIFE Greentech have all turned to FREDsense for faster PFAS sample testing and results to speed their technology development. Additionally, FREDsense launched the industry’s first field analyzer for PFAS in January of this year after demonstrating at an international airport the ability to monitor aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) transition projects in real time without the need for slow, off-site analysis. The Company has also further developed applications allowing for in-field screening in site investigation and remedial programs and is working with numerous confidential customers in both lab and field categories.

“We’ve proven market traction for both of our rapid PFAS testing offerings in the past year and have our sights set on continued growth within the environmental and water treatment space. I look forward to supporting Eric by strengthening our operations and ensuring that our solutions continue to meet the highest standards for our clients,” explained FREDsense now COO, Emily Hicks.
