Haleon receives Alliance for Water Stewardship certification at Montreal facility

In a major milestone for sustainable manufacturing in Canada, Haleon, a global leader in consumer health with internationally recognized brands such as Advil, Centrum and Buckley’s, has secured Certified Core status under the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Standard at its Montreal facility. This global certification recognizes the company’s leadership in sustainable water use and is the only Canadian company to receive the designation to-date.

As we near the end of Earth Month, and climate remaining a top priority, this achievement is especially timely and offers a compelling local success story.

As outlined in its 2024 Responsible Business Report, Haleon’s environmental sustainability work includes targeting carbon emissions, making packaging more sustainable, and sourcing trusted ingredients sustainably. Haleon’s commitment to responsible business is ingrained in the organization and its mandate focuses on health inclusivity, environmental sustainability, and upholding industry standards.

The AWS certification is one step in Haleon’s sustainability goals, including achieving AWS Standard certification at all manufacturing sites by 2025. Haleon is also working towards a goal of achieving water neutrality at manufacturing sites in water-stressed basins by 2030.
